Welcome to St. Paul's, Piney Parish!

 Welcome to St. Paul's, Piney!

Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,

I’d like to welcome you to our church.  St. Paul’s, Piney is one of the oldest Episcopal churches in Southern Maryland in the Diocese of Washington.  Originally a chapel connected to Christ Church, we were consecrated as an independent church in 1968.

The church itself follows an Episcopal/Anglican tradition in scripture, liturgy and music, as well as engaging in active outreach to those around us.  Empowered by the Holy Spirit, we share the Gospel through ur words and deeds.

Inspired by the words of Jesus, “You have heard it said… but, I say to you….” we recognize that scripture must be carefully studied so that we understand clearly how God would have us act.  We encourage you to seek God with your mind as well as your heart.  We have many exciting educational programs for children and adults which offer traditional Bible study – as well as an interactive discussion forum where questions are encouraged and wrestling with the text becomes the foundation of a deeper relationship with God.

We offer a spiritual home to those who are seeking God or a closer relationship with Him.  Jesus turned no one away, neither do we.  St. Paul’s, Piney is a family of faith – a community of people with a purpose to invite all people to be reconciled to God through Jesus Christ.  We invite you to join us in this great mission and to enter more deeply into the mystery of Christ alive in us.

Blessings,

Mother Joy+
